Homework Schedule

There are nine homework assignments, each worth 20 points and about 45 minutes of work. Together they are worth 20% of your grade, and the lowest is dropped.

Policies — what they are for, how they are marked, and why the key posts when it does — are on the homework policies page.

There is no homework during the weeks a mini project is due, or over spring break. All assignments are due at 9:00pm Eastern on a Thursday; the solution key posts Friday, when the late window closes.

Structure

Each assignment has three problems — a scenario, three standalone quiz-format questions, and a computational item — and is worth 20 points. The full breakdown, and why a homework point is not the same size as a quiz point, is on the homework policies page.

The Key Posts A Day After The Deadline

Late work is accepted up to 24 hours at full credit, and the solution key goes up when that window closes — so that a late submission is not just a copy of the key.

This still puts the key in your hands well before the quiz it rehearses. The shortest gap all semester is three days, and most are a week or more:

Set Key posts Quiz Days with the key
HW1 Fri 2/05 Mon 2/08 3
HW2 Fri 2/12 Mon 2/22 10
HW3 Fri 2/19 Fri 3/05 14
HW4 Fri 2/26 Fri 3/05 7
HW5 Fri 3/05 Fri 3/19 14
HW6 Fri 3/12 Fri 3/19 7
HW7 Fri 3/26 Fri 4/09 14
HW8 Fri 4/16 Mon 5/03 17
HW9 Fri 4/30 Mon 5/03 3

Written feedback on the marked questions may arrive after the quiz, and that is fine: the forms of question recur across all six quizzes, so feedback on how you stated a model in February is still useful in April.
